"Morning After Pill" Debate
Story aired: Tuesday, December 16, 2003

Should the "morning after pill," that prevents 90 percent of pregnancies if taken within 72 hours of intercourse, become as available as aspirin? That's the question before the Federal Drug Administration.

Some pro-life groups oppose the pill, but its advocates say it will prevent abortions by preventing unwanted pregnancies.

Guests:

Thomas Purdon of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which supports making the "Plan B" pill more accessible

Wendy Wright, policy director at the Concerned Women for America, opposed to the over-the-counter "Plan B" pill.
