Lost Beagle?
Story aired: Thursday, December 25, 2003



The Beagle 2 is a 73-pound European spacecraft named for Charles Darwin's ship of discovery. The spacecraft was slated to land on the planet Mars in the wee hours this morning where it is supposed to begin it mission of seeking out organic material on Martian soil.

Joining us to discuss the mission is Kelly Beaty, the executive editor of Sky and Telescope magazine.
