Bush Seeks Changes to Immigration Policy
Story aired: Wednesday, January 07, 2004

If President Gorge Bush has his way, up to 12 million undocumented foreign workers could be allowed to work legally in the United States.

His proposal, expected to be unveiled later today, could have important political ramifications for the president with supporters and detractors on the right and left.

But what exactly does it say? And why is the president proposing it now?

Wall street journal reporter Greg Hitt is covering the story, and he joins Here and Now.
