Candidates Woo New Hampshire Story aired: Wednesday, January 21, 2004
A little less than 20 percent of the American electorate belongs to unions. In what many expect to be a fiercely competitive general election, and what is already a wildly unpredictable Democratic nomination sweepstakes, that near 20 percent should be a significant group to court for votes.
To discuss the role of unions in the 2004 election, and to do a little bit of political handicapping in New Hampshire as the clock ticks down to Tuesday's primary, Here and Now turns to Curtis Gans of the Committee for the Study of the American Electorate and Peter Canellos of the Boston Globe.
