Following an Arms Inspector
Story aired: Thursday, January 22, 2004

The Bush administration's chief weapons hunter in Iraq, David Kay, is expected to resign next month as head of the Iraq Survey Group. That group was charged with, and has so far failed to find, weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Despite this, Vice President Dick Cheney told National Public Radio yesterday he still believes such weapons may yet be found. He spoke with NPR on the eve of a five-day trip to Europe, where he will seek help in the war on terrorism. Many Europeans think there was never enough proof of the weapons' existence to justify the war.

On the PBS program Frontline, BBC reporter Jane Corbin presents a report on David Kay and his frustrating search. Corbin won extraordinary access to Kay and his team of some 1,400 weapons hunters.

Guests:

Jane Corbin, BBC journalist.
