Ballot clerk Dorothy Matthews gives a ballot paper to a New Hampshire voter at the Pelham Memorial School in Pelham, NH (AP)
New Hampshire Democrats Vote
Story aired: Tuesday, January 27, 2004

Democratic candidates for president are making their final appeals to New Hampshire voters, who are expected to turn out in record numbers to cast their ballots today. In the tiny northern towns of Dixville Notch and Hart's Landing voted just after midnight, with voters giving the early nod to retired general Wesley Clark.

Elsewhere in New Hampshire the picture isn't so clear. Many voters believe there are several good candidates and are still undecided as to which to pick. New Hampshire Primary voters say the tradition has been to the dismiss Iowa Caucus results, so undecided voters may very well be the key to the race in New Hampshire.

Robin Young reports live from New Hampshire.
