Kay Calls for Prewar Intelligence Inquiry
Story aired: Thursday, January 29, 2004

"We were all wrong...and that is most disturbing."

Those are the words of David Kay, the recently resigned former chief weapons hunter in Iraq, speaking to the Senate Armed Services Committee. Kay referred to Bush administration insistence that Saddam Hussein possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction as war in Iraq began last year.

Kay blamed what he called major shortfalls in U.S. intelligence and called for an independent inquiry into what went wrong.

Guests:

Bob Drogin, L.A. Times.
