Iraq Coalition Launches Insurgent Offensive

Coalition forces launched a new operation in Iraq today called "Iron Promise," an effort to weed out insurgents who are increasingly targeting civilians.

WBUR reporter Michael Goldfarb is in Irbil in Northern Iraq. Michael was in that city a year ago this week, just as the war in Iraq was underway.
