Kill Bil: Vol. 2
The Bride's Stunt Woman
Story aired: Wednesday, May 26, 2004

Stunt doubles are the people who crash through walls, jump out of cars and windows so movie stars don't have to. They are some of the hardest working, unsung heroes of the entertainment industry.

Not too long ago most stunt doubles in Hollywood were men. However, women are catching up thanks to films like "Charlie's Angels," "The Matrix," and "Kill Bill."

In Quentin Tarantino's film "Kill Bill," the stunt double who made "The Bride" Uma Thurman seem invincible was a young New Zealander, Zoe Bell. She's also been in "Zena: Warrior Princess" and in the upcoming "Catwoman."

In tonight's televised World Stunt Awards, Zoe has been nominated in two categories: Best Fight and best overall stunt by a woman for her work in 'Kill Bill's" opening scene.

The World stunt Awards will be broadcast tonight on Spike TV. Zoe is also the subject of the new documentary, "Double Dare."
