Iraq Resolution Debate
Story aired: Monday, June 07, 2004

In Iraq today, nine major political parties agreed to disband their militias, but the militia of radical cleric Moqtada al Sadr was not one of them.

In the southern city of Kufa, an ammunition dump used by Al Sadr's forces reportedly caught fire today, killing at least one person.

At the United Nations, the fourth draft of a Security Council resolution on Iraq is almost ready for a vote. One of the last sticking points was how the U.S. and Iraq might have a military partnership.
