A Conversation with EJ Dionne Story aired: Wednesday, June 09, 2004
The deep division between party lines is emerging once again as Republicans and Democrats voice their opinions about Ronald Reagan's legacy. Some say that this type of partisan politics came to the fore while Reagan was in office, but the political conversation then was more civil, less angry.
EJ Dionne would like to see civil conversation make a comeback, but to do so he says Democracts need to have a unified, well-articulated voice.
He writes about all of this in his new book "Stand Up, Fight Back: Republican Toughs, Democratic Wimps, and the Politics of Revenge."
Guests:
EJ Dionne Jr, columnist, professor, and author of the new book "Stand Up, Fight Back: Republican Toughs,
Democratic Wimps, and the Politics of Revenge."
