White House Sticking With Al Qaeda - Iraq Link
Story aired: Friday, June 18, 2004

The White House is on the defensive after the 9/11 Commission reported earlier this week that they found no evidence of an Iraq-Al Qaeda "collaborative relationship" to attack the United States in September 2001. The relationship between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda was a major reason the Bush administration pushed for war with Iraq.

Vice President Dick Cheney, appearing on NBC's Today Show this morning, says he disagrees with the way findings from commission have been portrayed by the press.

Here to help us understand what the 9/11 Commission found out and how it's playing out in the press is Andrea Stone, congressional correspondent for USA Today, and Jonathan Alter, senior editor for Newsweek magazine.
