Zakim Bridge in Boston.
DNC Protests
Story aired: Wednesday, July 14, 2004

Boston officials are moving ahead with preparations to deal with as many as 20,000 protesters expected to be in the city during the Democratic National Convention. So far, 67 permits for demonstrations have been issued.

Groups from all over the country have applied for permits to rally, march, hold vigils, and perform street theater in Boston. Planning for these events is proving to be a major challenge for both the city and the protestors.
