Philip Roth's "The Plot Against America"
The New NYT Book Review
Story aired: Friday, October 01, 2004

Lovers of books are looking forward to Phillip Roth's "The Plot Against America."

This Sunday's New York Times calls it a fable of "fascism in red white and blue" and devotes five pages to the book, a rarity in the book review's 104 year history.

But wait a minute, the review looks different. The whole section looks just a little different.

New York Times book review editor Sam Tanenhaus talks about the highly anticipated books this fall, and the long awaited new books section.
