Mount St. Helens Steams
Story aired: Wednesday, October 06, 2004

Mount St. Helens threw a plume of steam and ash thousands of feet into the air yesterday. Scientists say the rock inside the crater has bulged about 150 feet in recent days.

Experts do not expect an enormous and deadly eruption like the one in 1980 that killed 57 people.

Guests:

Dr. Kevin Scott, geologist at the U.S. Geological Survey's Cascades Volcano Observatory.
