"Let The Buyer Beware" -- Lenny Bruce box set
Lenny Bruce
Story aired: Thursday, October 21, 2004

The late comedian Lenny Bruce was many things to so many people: sad, obscene, honest, hip, tragic. Those are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind. Two additional descriptions stand out: controversial and pioneer. Lenny Bruce challenged his audience to think and laugh at the same time.

Lenny Bruce entered the spotlight, and then it became searchlight.. Bruce was after a series of arrests for drugs and obscenity. He died a poor man in 1966.

Now, a new CD box set called "Lenny Bruce: Let the Buyer Beware" is available. It was co-produced by his daughter Kitty, who joins us on the line from Public Radio Station WVIA in Western Pennsylvania.
