TV Footage from Iraq Shows Explosives in Place Story aired: Friday, October 29, 2004
The video tape of barrels of explosives in Iraq, shot by a Minneapolis television crew in April of 2003 has been viewed by former weapons inspector David Kay, who says the explosives appear to be consistent with those missing from a base at the Al Qa Qaa weapons facility.
If true, the tape would confirm that the weapons were looted from the base after the U.S. invasion rather than before it, as U.S. officials are saying.
The tape, broadcast by the ABC affiliate KTSP, also appears to confirm a warning earlier this month to the International Atomic Energy Agency by Iraqi officials, who said hundreds of tons of high grade explosives had vanished from the site after the invasion of Iraq.
