Florida Polls Under High Scrutiny
Story aired: Monday, November 01, 2004

After the 2000 election, Democrats felt they had been caught short-staffed in the legal department, so this time around, they've amassed thousands of lawyers and non-lawyers to monitor polling places.

Julian Montero is one of those lawyers. He's been observing early balloting in the state and says that that seems to have gone well. But attorneys for the Kerry camp have had to intervene in several instances.

Republicans, too, will be at the ready. Hayden Dempsey, chair of Lawyers for Bush in Florida, laid out what GOP attorneys will be looking for.
