"I Am Jewish: Personal Reflections Inspired by the Last Words of Daniel Pearl" by Judea Pearl, Ruth Pearl
Daniel Pearl's Father Reflects on Son
Story aired: Wednesday, December 08, 2004

Judea Pearl was born in Israel. He came to the U.S. for grad school, became a citizen, and worked as an esteemed computer scientist at UCLA, and quietly, with his wife Ruth, raised a family. Then in February 2002, everything changed. Judea's son Daniel Pearl was murdered, beheaded by Pakistani terrorists. Incredibly, Judea and his wife decided the best revenge would be to work for dialogue between Muslims and Jews.

To that end, they founded the Daniel Pearl Foundation, and more recently, they've edited a book echoing Danny's last known words. It's called. "I am Jewish: Personal reflections Inspired by the Last Words of Daniel Pearl."
