On This Spot : An Expedition Back Through Time by Susan E. Goodman
Up and Down: Archeology and Skyscrapers for Children
Story aired: Tuesday, December 14, 2004

Author Susan Goodman makes life an adventure. She has moon-walked at a space camp, paddled the Amazon, been to a buffalo round-up, and slept underwater. And she's written about all of it for kids. Two of Susan Goodman's latest children's books are "On this Spot," a peeling-back-in-time from one place, a New York City street corner. It has just made the Washington Post's best books for young readers in 2004. Her other is "Skyscraper," a look at how a 52-story building is constructed on a busy New York street. It has become the booklist editor's choice for the year, and has won Booklinks Lasting Connections award.
