Debris at destroyed market in Sumatra. (AP)
A New Nightmare for Surviving Children
Story aired: Tuesday, January 04, 2005

The government of Indonesia estimates that because of this month's earthquake and tsunami, in the province of Aceh alone, 35,000 children are homeless, orphaned or separated from their parents. And now stories of child kidnapping and improper adoptions are starting to surface around the Indian Ocean.

A 12-year-old Swedish boy who is thought to have survived the tsunami in Thailand may have been kidnapped from a hospital there, by a European man.
