Tsunami Leaves Mark on Animals, Environment Story aired: Wednesday, January 12, 2005
In the tsunami's wake there is havoc in the natural world.
Coral reefs, the back bone of tourism and fishing industries, have been decimated; domestic animals were killed in droves, some are homeless, starving and dying of disease. Many wild animals seemed to sense the tsunami's approach and escaped the inundation. But now those animals are seeking food and water.
