A merger to create the world's largest consumer products company is in the works. Cincinnati-based Proctor & Gamble, the maker of products like Tide, Crest, and Pampers has reached a $57 billion agreement to buy Gillette, the Boston-based maker of Razors and batteries. The move comes in part because of the influence of Wal-Mart.

So what does this mean for consumers?
