Indispensable Nation?
Story aired: Friday, February 11, 2005

In 1998, then Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said of the United States, "we are the indispensable nation." According to Michael Lind of the New America Foundation, that isn't so anymore. He says other countries are making deals and signing treaties that will "cut the U.S. down to size."

It that really true? And if it is, why?

Guests:

Michael Lind of the New America Foundation.

William Martell, professor of national security at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
