U.S. Supreme Court (AP)
American POWs Seek Compensation for Torture
Story aired: Thursday, February 17, 2005

Seventeen American soldiers who were captured and tortured in Iraq in 1991 are appealing to the Supreme Court, arguing that the Bush administration is unfairly denying them compensation for being tortured, while promising to compensate Iraqis abused last year by American soldiers.

This week the Justice Department will ask the U.S. Supreme Court to dismiss the POWs' appeal.

Joining us on the line is retired Air Force Colonel David Eberly, the senior officer among the former POWs.
