Authorities are investigating a growing identity theft scam involving a data collection agency that has information on virtually every American. The Georgia-based company ChoicePoint is now sending letters to 144,778 people nationwide because their information -- mortgages, motor vehicle records, even boat licenses -- may have been stolen by con artists.
