Music of Yesteryear
Story aired: Thursday, March 03, 2005

It used to be that every small theater across America had an organ. And the musicians who played those organs improvised the music and sound effects while silent movies played.

Theater organists went the way of silent films, but some of the organs survived.

Here and Now's Lynn Menegon sat down with Ohio musician Clark Wilson at a restored theater organ at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Guests:

Here and Now's Lynn Menegon.

Musician Clark Wilson.
