MoveOn's Online Insurgency
Story aired: Friday, March 04, 2005

While President Bush and administration officials fan out across the country to stump for the president's Social Security plan, MoveOn.org is reaching out to its legion of online supporters to defeat it.

The activist group announced a contest this week asking members to create an online ad attaching the Bush plan. More than 11,000 people have so far signed up.

MoveOn.org helped revolutionize the way politicians use the internet to get their message out and to raise funds. But while the group has signed on 3 million members and raised more than 60 million dollars, its list of accomplishments is short.
