Hezbollah Draws Thousands to Demonstrations

Tens of thousands of people gathered in Beirut today in support of Syria. In a rally called for by Hezbollah, the militant group that is attempting to transform itself into a political faction and has been quiet during two weeks of opposition protest against Syria.

Hassan Fattah is a correspondent for the New York Times. He spoke to us from Beirut.

Flynt Leverett, he is an expert in the region who has held senior positions in the U.S. government. He is now a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution, and the author of the soon-to-be-released book "Inheriting Syria: Bashar's Trial by Fire."
