"Harvard Rules"
Book Spotlights Controversial Harvard President
Story aired: Wednesday, March 09, 2005

Next week, Harvard University President Lawrence Summers is scheduled to face a no-confidence vote from the university's faculty.

At least in part, the vote stems from Summers comments that innate differences between men and women may explain why fewer women succeed at the top levels of science and engineering.

Richard Bradley, the author of "Harvard Rules: The Struggle for the Soul of the World's Most Powerful University," says the entire controversy is part of a larger problem.

He spoke to Here and Now's Bob Oakes.
