Indentity Theft (AP)
Protecting Yourself from Identity Theft
Story aired: Tuesday, March 15, 2005

Both Houses of Congress are hearing testimony today about a series of high profile data breaches. Last month a company called ChoicePoint announced thieves had stolen the personal data of 145,000 people. Then Lexis-Nexus announced it too had been infiltrated and data on more than 30,000 people had been taken.

If high tech thieves can penetrate major corporations, how vulnerable is that personal computer of yours and all the information you keep on it?

Guests:

Evan Hendricks, editor of Privacy Times. Hendricks is testifying in today's hearings.

Vijay Kanabar, an associate professor of computer technology at Boston University and an expert in computer security.
