Pope's Condition Worsens

Pope John Paul II is in grave condition, after suffering heart failure and septic shock.
A tearful papal spokesperson told reporters today that despite unstable blood pressure and other afflictions, the 84-year-old Pope is "lucid, fully conscious and extraordinarily serene." In accordance with his own wishes, the Pope will not be moved into a hospital facility.
