Vatican Says Funeral Held Friday
Story aired: Monday, April 04, 2005

The body of Pope John Paul II, flanked by Swiss guards and carried by a dozen pall bearers on a crimson platform, has been moved from an inner sanctum of the Vatican to Saint Peter's Basilica. There, pilgrims from around the world will be able to pay their final respects.

Meantime, the College of Cardinals has convened for its first two secret meetings at the Vatican. The group's first order of business was to schedule the pope's funeral, which will be held Friday morning.
