Connecticut Inches Closer to Civil Unions; Kansas Rejects Same-Sex Marriage

The State senate of Connecticut approved a bill that would recognize civil unions between same-sex couples. The measure would give gay and lesbian couples many of the same benefits that married couples have.

This comes as voters in Kansas on Tuesday passed a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.
