In Congress today both Democrats and Republicans are hoping to capitalize on the momentum on some apparent broken legislative log jams.
Senators are expecting to narrowly confirm the first of President Bush's stalled judicial choices, the nomination of Priscilla Owen to an appellate court judgeship.
A close vote is also expected this week on the stalled nomination of John Bolton to be U.N. Ambassador.
Echoing those action is the effort by both parties in both chambers to fast-track federal funding for stem cell research. Following yesterday's favorable vote in the House, defying the president veto threat.
