Cover detail, "Touchpoints" by T. Berry Brazelton
A Conversation with T. Berry Brazelton
Story aired: Thursday, June 02, 2005

We recently visited the Cambridge home of T. Berry Brazelton, perhaps the country's most popular pediatrician, and author of a series of new books based on his theory that children regress a little in order to make a developmental leap forward.

Each book addresses a different touch point: feeding, toilet training, sleep. We spent a while talking with the doctor about discipline.

Dr. Brazelton and his coauthor Dr. Joshua Sparrow maintain that most anger and aggression in children is as bewildering to them as it is to their parents.

Books referred to in this segment:

"Mastering Anger & Aggression: The Brazelton Way"
"Discipline: The Brazelton Way "
"Understanding Sibling Rivalry: The Brazelton Way"

Guests:

T. Berry Brazelton.
