Ask the Economist
Story aired: Wednesday, July 27, 2005

What if Ann Landers was an economist? What if you asked her about dating and she helped you work out your problem using the tools of Adam Smith?

Tim Harford does just that in the pages of the Financial Times. He writes the "Dear Economist" for that paper and analyzes social interactions with economic tools. Harford is also the author of the forthcoming book, "The Undercover Economist."

Guests:

Tim Harford, columnist for the Financial Times
