Newly-released documents show that as a young lawyer in the Reagan Justice Department, now-Supreme Court nominee John Roberts played a key behind-the-scenes role giving party-line legal advice to his superiors. However, the thousands of documents released yesterday by the White House don't reveal information that Senate Democrats want to know, such as Roberts' personal views on abortion and Roe v. Wade.
