Congressman: 9/11 Hijackers Were Surveilled
Story aired: Tuesday, August 09, 2005

There is a report that asserts for the first time that U.S. Intelligence agents identified Mohammed Atta and some of his cohorts as a threat more than a year before 9/11. Top secret U.S. intelligence agents even had the terrorists' visa photographs on an Al Qaeda organizational flow chart. But that information was never shared with other agencies.

The story is in today's New York Times, and the claims are made in part by Congressman Curt Weldon of Pennsylvania, who is Vice Chairman of both the House Armed Services Committee and the House Homeland Security Committee.
