Alleged 9/11 Intelligence Flaws
Story aired: Wednesday, August 10, 2005

At least two congressional committees are now investigating claims that could change the view of U.S. intelligence failures before the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Congressman Curt Weldon, citing an unnamed intelligence official, told the New York Times and this program yesterday that U.S. military intelligence agents identified Mohammed Atta and three other 9/11 hijackers more than a year before the attacks, but he said the agents were legally blocked from sharing that information with law enforcement.
