Northwest Negotiations

Northwest: Airline negotiators and its mechanics union return to the bargaining table today. Northwest has put what it calls its last and best offer on the table.

Friday midnight is the deadline for a new contract for Northwest Airlines and its mechanics union. The two sides are still in negotiation today. However, late yesterday, union leaders thought that a settlement was unlikely.
