The Price of Gas
Story aired: Tuesday, August 23, 2005

The average price of gasoline rose 6.2 cents last week. Will prices keep going up? Wll new fuel efficiency standards make a dent in oil consumption?

Vahan Janjigian of Forbes Investor Advisory Institute says he is starting to see changing consumer behavior due to the rising price of gas.

As a side effect of this, Janjigian says it is likely that more people will be trying to drive off without paying, and says some gas station owners are now paying staff to make sure this doesn't happen.

Janjigian says he expects the price of a barrel of crude to settle at around $50 a barrel. "I think we'd better get used to higher prices from here on out," he says.
