Capturing Katrina

Amid the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, hundreds of photojournalists have taken picture after picture in an effort to capture the impact, the devastation, and the emotional turmoil of the survivors.

Donald Winslow, editor of News Photographer Magazine, cites Vincent Laforte as one of the top photojournalists in the aftermath of Katrina. Donald describes the relationship between the photojournalist and the subject matter that creates a great photo and the some of the challenges facing photojournalists who seek to capture the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
