Internet Gets a Makeover
Story aired: Tuesday, September 13, 2005

The Internet has been a useful tool in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, but it fell victim to the storm which disrupted service.

So why can't we keep the Internet running during a natural disaster? That is just one of the questions to be considered by the people involved in a new project launched by the National Science Foundation.

Some of the best minds in the country are asking if redesign the Internet from scratch, what would you do?

Guests:

David Clark, researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of technology. He's working on the project.
