Court Convicts 9/11 Suspects
Story aired: Monday, September 26, 2005

A Spanish court has found 18 Al Qaeda suspects linked to 9/11 attacks guilty. However, prosecutors did not get what they wanted in terms of jail sentences. The alleged ringleader, a Syrian-born Spaniard, was sentenced to 27 years in prison and not 75,000 years -- 25 years for each of the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks.

Leslie Crawford of The Financial Times provides an
in-depth update on the trial and the outcome.
