Al Qaeda Nightly News
Story aired: Thursday, September 29, 2005

Al Qaeda has apparently started up its first newscast, "Voice of the Caliphate," that premiered this week on an Islamic website where militants usually post their statements.

Experts say the brief newscast appears to be genuine, although it could be produced by anyone with a video camera. In it, a masked anchorman, sitting beside a Koran and a rifle mounted on a tripod, presents what he says will be weekly news.
