"Barbarians at the Plate: Taming and Feeding the American Family "
Dinner Hour Still a Pastime for this Family
Story aired: Monday, November 07, 2005

For many American families, dinner hour is apparently becoming a thing of the past. Author Marialisa Calta wanted to find out how busy families manage to find the time and inspiration to cook dinner. Calta's written a new book called "Barbarians at the Plate: Taming and Feeding the American Family." In it she interviews families who do manage to sit down together at the dinner table. Calta and our resident chef, Kathy Gunst, visited one of the families profiled -- the home of Mary Kay and Steven Knox in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

Guests:

Author Marialisa Calta and Here and Now resident chef Kathy Gunst
