86-year-old Frances Crowe of Northampton, MA is part of Communi-Go, a regional group created "to provide a safer method of impromptu carpooling." With gas prices still high across the U.S., many people are becoming more creative with fuel conservation.

Communi-Go's proposed plan, supported by the Northampton police chief, would involve supplying hitchhikers with placards confirming their membership in the group. Crowe thinks that, "One of the things that we're going to have to do for the future is try to learn to trust one another more and build community."
