Ahmad Chalabi, flanked by members of Parliament, meets journalists (AP)
Ahmad Chalabi
Story aired: Tuesday, November 08, 2005

Ahmad Chalabi will meet with Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld this week. Chalabi, the Iraqi defector who provided the Bush administration with faulty pre-war intelligence, fell out of favor with the U.S. after the invasion of Iraq.

Last year Chalabi was accused of leaking state secrets to Iran. Chalabi is now a top official in Iraq in charge of oil and returning to Washington on the last lap of his political victory tour.

Today, a bipartisan group of senators continued their investigation into how top officials in the Bush administration handled pre-war intelligence. Part of their investigation will focus on forgeries that claimed Iraq was buying yellowcake uranium from Niger.

Guests:

Philip Giraldi, former CIA counterterrorism official
