Remembering John Lennon
Story aired: Thursday, December 08, 2005

Fans are gathering today in Liverpool, Paris and Japan, and they're placing candles and flowers outside of the Dakota apartment building in New York City where musician John Lennon was murdered 25 years ago.

His death was universally felt. Lennon remains close to the hearts of music lovers, through no small effort of his widow, Yoko Ono, who has carefully managed his legacy.

For some reflections on Lennon's life and legacy, Robin Young speaks with John Stevens, an associate professor of songwriting at Berklee College of Music. Stevens has been teaching classes on John Lennon for the past 25 years.
